Esma-i Hüsna Exhibition which is consisted of Turkish paper marbling artisan Hikmet Barutçugil’s works has opened in Mehmet Akif Ersoy Art Center, Pendik. Mayor of Pendik, Kenan Şahin made an important speech and said “I wish this exhibition will contribute to favour within Muslims and coming of a generation that their children will not wash ashore.”
Turkish paper marbling artisan Hikmet Barutçugil’s work called as “Esma-i Hüsna” was exhibited within the context of International Festival for Artisans. Opening ceremony of the exhibition started with Serkan Kamacı and Grup Zuhurat’s Esma-ül Hüsna concert and then continued with Quran recitation. After the concert, Hikmet Barutçugil informed the visitors about the exhibition. On the other hand, those take part in International Festival for Artisans also visited the exhibition. Foreign guests had taken pictures of artwork and then got information about Turkish paper marbling via album and catalogues had been prepared in English.
Islamic Geography was mentioned
Mayor of Pendik, Kenan Şahin made a significant speech in the meeting where Justice and Development Party’s (AK Party) Istanbul Deputy, Erol Kaya and Governor of Pendik, Osman Tunç also participated and Mr. Şahin mentioned violence and partition within Islamic geography. He stressed that the biggest problem within the Islamic countries is “dislike of each other” and added “We need to know each other better so as to like each other.” Mayor Şahin address to the refugee child whose body washed up on Aegean shore and hurt everyone’s feelings and said “I wish this exhibition will contribute to favour within Muslims and coming of a generation that their children will not wash ashore.”
